Tree of Life Yoga & Holistic Therapy
Hi there and thank you for connecting with me.
Over 23 years ago I embarked on my holistic journey qualifiying from Champney’s College in Tring. My yoga journey, which started as many things do, with a major life changing event. The catalyst was a motorway car accident which left me with limited movement in my right side. I tried many different therapies, but it was finally through yoga that I found the road to rehabilitation and the release from chronic pain. I was hooked and couldn’t wait to share my personal transformation to teach others. As a result, yoga quickly became my life and each year I would spend months in India and Thailand immersed in learning and teaching – I did this for over fifteen years.
After a challenging pregnancy and a difficult birth, it was through these times and beyond, that my yoga, meditation and philosophy carried me positively forwards. These experiences have shaped the way I now teach and assist others to relieve them from some of their painful journeys in life too.
After two decades of practice, my teaching continues to evolve through experience and learning from my students and my own ever-changing needs. I am challenged to adapt, align and assist in order to satisfy all needs. I have a dedicated daily self practice , plus I personally prepare my sessions to ensure they relate to each of my students’ current requests. I deliberately keep my class sizes to a maximum of eight people to keep them as personal and tailored as possible, to reflect and transfer my own experience whilst learning from my Guru.
I continue to update my training through advanced workshops and masterclasses to ensure safe practice alongside current teaching methods . I participate in CPD with a two week immersion with my teachers, keeping my qualifications up to date. I initially trained under an Iyengar teacher for two years assisting her with all her classes and also with meditation and pregnancy yoga. This followed with British School of Yoga training in Philosophy, Sun Power Yoga focusing on Sivananda, Pranayama and Flow, Central Yoga Qualification and the Register of Exercise Professional Level 3.
I was approached by a family to assist them in overcoming bereavement and the challenges that followed, and through this experience children’s yoga then seemed a natural progression. I have been blessed to have worked in some of the best nurseries in Kent with children of 18 months and upwards, in addition to working in busy studios and gyms. I also took my Red Sash exams in Thailand with Agama Yoga with a focus on energy in all aspects of yoga. I now work directly in the peace and tranquility of my home studio, and look forward to welcoming you soon.
